MDF from Craftright Shelving Unit is very smelly

MDF from Craftright Shelving Unit is very smelly. I put it outdoor for 1 week and it still smells. Is it because of the harmful VOC? Can anyone from Bunnings check if it is within the legal range?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your Craftright shelving.

If the shelves are still giving off a strong odour even after one week of airing out, I suggest bringing it back to the store and speaking to the customer service team and explaining to them what has happened. Please make sure to bring your docket so that they can track down your purchase. They will then assess why your shelves are still smelling and provide alternatives.

I have had many oft these types of shaving systems over the years and this is normal. It's simply the painted metal and new MDF timber shelves and nothing to be concerned about. just it a week or so at most and the smell with fade to nothing.
