Multi-functional, flip-top workbench

My old workbench, as good as it's been over the past 12 years needed a revamp which was the inspiration for this project. I wanted a workbench that incorporated a table saw as well as a mitre saw with the ability for the mitre saw to be flipped and stored underneath the bench when not in use which frees up space on top of the workbench. All materials apart from the wheels were  purchased from Bunnings.

Re: Multi-functional, flip-top workbench

Thanks Shane,

I have purchased your plans and will get started as soon as the weather warms up, no temperature control in my workshop/2-car garage.

Thanks again for the inspiration. I have been toying with this idea for some time, and your project fits the bill perfectly.  I may have to adjust some of the dimensions as I have a Makita Table saw and I will be upgrading my Compound Mitre saw to a new Bosch model.

Thanks again

Leon

Re: Multi-functional, flip-top workbench

This is pretty much the exact workbench I want for my place. I really appreciate the effort you've gone to here, @DIY4Knuckleheds. I've followed the bouncing ball to your plans and such, so I might even get this built before Christmas!

Re: Multi-functional, flip-top workbench

Hey Shane,

Love this bench and the little nuances that take it up a notch (potential pun intended!).

I have a couple of somewhat-related questions:

You built a folding / wall-mountable workbench a couple of years ago which I thought was also fantastic. That bench looks like it doesn't get used much at the moment based on all the decorations and items currently resting on it. What was your experience using it, and perhaps for not using it as much anymore? Did that factor into building a more substantial bench that I'm assuming can't be stored away?

Re: Multi-functional, flip-top workbench

G'day Syed,

Glad you liked the Flip-Top Bench mate 👍 In relation to the Wall Mounted Bench, it's an absolute little ripper.....works like a charm. I built that one purely for a video that l wanted to make which is why l don't actually need it.....hence the decorations over it 😂

Cheers 👍
