Hey can this hole on the side of the door handle unlock the door or is it just to switch the handle around and remove. As it is outside the garage I was just making sure it’s not an entry to unlock the door. Thanks
Hi @tyso1987,
My understanding is that these holes are a release for the handle so that it can be reoriented for left or right-hand opening doors, and that they would not give you access to the lock function in any way. In saying this, I'd like to double-check for your peace of mind.
Which specific entrance set did you purchase? Was it the Ikonic Brushed Nickel Orbis Entry Lever Set?
Once you've gotten back to me, I can get in touch with our supplier to confirm.
In the meantime, maybe just have a play around with it and see what you find. I can't imagine there would be any way that you could disengage the lock utilising this function.
I'll wait for your response then assist further.
Jacob
Thank you I not a 100 % of what type it is but looks as tho it is the ikonik brushed nickel orbiz entry. If you could find out from the supplier on that product if it’s just for reorientation that would be great thanks
Hi @tyso1987,
I've emailed our supplier and will get back to you as soon as they respond.
If you happen to stick something in and give it a try yourself, let me know what you find.
Jacob
Ok thank you. Will do
Hi @tyso1987
The hole is to release the handle only and is common to see on cheaper model handle sets. To remove the handle, turn it slowly until you see the push plate. Then depress this with a fine jewellers screwdriver of long skinny nail.
The mechanism can't be used to override the locking system/latch. Purely handle release.

Thanks heaps for that
