Does Bunnings stock something similar to Loctite's Kintsuglue? I need a flexible putty-like glue to repair some damage to a bike seat, but it seems that Bunnings no longer stocks this product. At least not in WA?
Hi @shay2,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
There are a few alternatives that are similar to Kintsuglue.
There's the Gorilla All Purpose Epoxy Stick, Selleys Knead It Multi Purpose Epoxy Putty and a few different epoxy putties from PC Products.
These should all be suitable alternatives to Kintsuglue.
Let me know what you think.
Jacob
Thanks for the reply, Jacob. Kintsuglue dries with a rubbery feel which is suitable for a patching a bike seat. I think epoxy’s dry harder, don’t they?
Hi @shay2,
Yes, you're right that epoxy will dry harder and be inflexible, so they might not be the best option.
Having a look around, it seems like Kintsuglue is no longer available and possibly no longer being produced. I will check with the supplier when they reopen tomorrow, but it seems unlikely we'll be able to get any.
Do you have any photos of the bike seat that you can share?
I may be able to offer a different solution for the repair if I can see exactly what we're dealing with.
Let me know if you need a hand uploading images. Happy to help if required.
Jacob
Hi,
I use Kintsuglue to help seal a battery into place on a piece of technology (battery cap). I am now aware that Kintsuglue is no longer available, and others have recommended Sugru (also unavailable).
Are you aware of any other alternatives available? I need it to be waterproof, flexible, and able to be removed easily when required.
Thanks
Chris
Hello @chrisnatoli
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about Kintsuglue.
I'm sorry but I'm currently unaware of an equivalent replacement for the Kintsuglue. However, I am very interested in your device that has lost its cover cap. Would it possible for you to post a photo of the device? Perhaps our members can make a suggestion on how to fix it or perhaps offer an alternative for the battery cap other then the Kintsuglue.
Generally speaking, you could use Selleys 50g Knead It Multi Purpose Epoxy Putty, but it dries hard and is not flexible, so it may not be compatible with your device.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
Eric
