How do I discharge ag drainage from a retaining wall?

Hi,

I'm going to be installing a 15m long retaining wall, to a height of about 200mm with the aim of levelling my block and creating a garden bed in the process. When I run my ag pipe along the wall, where do I discharge it? I don’t believe there will be any stormwater pipes, pits or anything close by

When it comes to agi pipe, or agricultural drainage pipe, the main thing is to make sure the water flows into the stormwater system rather than spilling out onto the ground. This prevents erosion and helps the drainage work properly. To get the best results, the pipe should run on a gentle slope so water naturally makes its way to the outlet. Wrapping the pipe in geotextile is important too, as it stops soil from clogging things up.

It’s also a good idea to keep the agi pipe system separate from your regular stormwater by connecting it to a proper stormwater pit. Because every council has its own set of rules, it’s always worth checking in with a licensed plumber. They can confirm what applies in your area and make sure everything is installed correctly and is compliant with the council rules. It might be necessary to add more pipework to make sure that the discharge goes to the proper area.
