How do you block gap between a shared fence and a granny flat?

So my question is how do you fence off the gap between a shared fence and a granny flat? Basically my dogs go behind my granny flat and dig holes, I'm too big to get back there and fill the holes so I was using the bamboo fencing panels as a temporary fix however the dogs chew the bottom and get under.

Looking for something more permanent, any suggestions?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your fence gap.

There are two possible ways I can think off to prevent your pets from digging in that area. First, place some sleepers like the 200 x 50mm Sleeper H4 Sienna MicroPro 2.4m right in the middle of the gap lying face down. This will automatically reduce the amount of surface area your pets can dig into. The other method is to use Brighton Masonry 600 x 300 x 40mm Charcoal Mypave Paver, simply place these pavers in the gap to prevent your pets from digging into the soil. You can use a post or a pole to position the pavers in place.

What about a narrow gate using a metal frame gate kit with pine or merbau pickets. Lay pavers underneath to stop the muttlys digging under.

Ahh doggo's being doggo's 🙂 My old dog would chew through my grandmas slatted with large airgap side gate that I had built out of pine (first gate Id ever made and it looked great but wasnt up to a dog snacking on it.)

I actually got him to stop doing that when he was bored by spraying WD40 on teh base of the gate. He didnt even try licking it again after that. I did have to respray a few times after rain but he stopped chewing it.

Id go with a mixture of the base being blocked by using these Hebel PowerBlock 600 x 200 x 075mm 130/PLT CSR PowerBlock and the WD-40 325g Multi-Use Classic Spray Those Powerblocks are very light so they are easy to move but they are large so doggos will struggle shifting them. I use them as edges and also to smooth out my steps when using a wheelbarrow. (You cut them in half using a timber hand saw!)

And using your existing bamboo for the rest (Unless its been snacked on too heavily 🙂
