How to add drainage to pebble path?

Hi all. We are putting in a paver path, with surrounding pebbles. Plan is weed mate/road base/sand/pavers/pebbles. We need to place a few stormwater pits amongst it due to the nature of the site. I'm wondering how do people do this without the roadbase/sand getting into the drain/pit and clogging it?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.

Stormwater pits are predominantly used for surface water, so they would typically be installed flush with the finished surface. In your case, it would be feasible to install the drainage pits flush with the surface of the sand and have the pebbles on top of the grate, assuming they are large enough that they won't fall through the grate into the stormwater pit. As long as the sand is suitably compacted, it should not be lifted and deposited in the pit unless there is a major weather event where there is a considerable amount of moving water passing over the surface.
