Hi there,
I have some left over pavers from some other jobs in the backyard and want to use them to help create a spare garden bed. I am wanting to create a bit of uneven effect where one side is flat to put in the ground but the of the pavement is broken up. As it shows in the pictures it looks a bit yuck as it is now, so could do with zhuzh
Are there any specific mallets one would recommend at Bunnings to do this?
Thanks!
Hi @lemonsrus,
This sounds like a fantastic project that will put those left over pavers to good use.
I'd suggest using any standard hammer with a cold chisel or bolster.
These are the standard tools a mason will use for splitting and altering stones.
You'll likely want to get some practice on a spare paver to gauge how hard you need to hit the chisel and the angle you'd need to hold it at to achieve the look you are after. Once you are confident, you can get stuck in. Just make sure you wear gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, enclosed shoes and long protective clothing as there is some potential for material to become airborne and we don't want you getting injured needlessly.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Jacob
