How to connect tanks to pump?

Hi,

I have two tanks with 3/4 inch male fittings.  I would like to connect them both to a pump which has a 1 inch female inlet.  The pump has a 1 inch male outlet and I would like to run that to a tap.  What selection of products would achieve this?

Thanks

Hello @stuartc

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your tank pump.

Just a friendly reminder that any plumbing work needs to be carried out by a licensed plumber for safety and compliance.

Generally speaking, the two tanks must be connected together and form a single outlet, both tanks would ideally have shut off valves just in case one tank is low or empty. The 3/4 equivalent in mm is 20mm and 1 inch is 25mm. I propose looking at using Philmac fittings in combination with Vinidex 20mm x 3m PE100 Poly Pipe and Vinidex 25mm x 3m PE100 Poly Pipe. I suggest drawing out the pipe layout on paper and visiting the store and having a look at the parts available. It's easier to lay the parts out when they are in front of you and you can determine the number of turns and joins you'll need.

My best advice is to place your pump on top of large pavers if you don't have a cement base or floor.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
