How to fix retic head to water lawn?

I have had an ongoing multi year fight with my retic! There is a small.section of lawn that dies every year, pic below. It is clearly not getting water despite there being a head in the bed adjacent, which is a 180 degree head covering the grass fully. I have checked the head and it is working fine.

It looks like the water is going over the grass when operating, I have tried making the riser shorter and using the screw on the top of the head to reduce the pressure and hence the water arc. None of this has helped at all.

Really appreciate any advice on alternatives to try to fix this.

It sounds like you’ve done the usual adjustments @TedLasso, but sometimes a standard sprinkler just won’t reach certain spots because of pressure, head design, or landscaping angles. One practical solution is to install an inline flow control in the irrigation line feeding that head. This lets you reduce the water pressure/flow to just that outlet, which in turn reduces the distance the water sprays and keeps it landing on the problem patch rather than overshooting it.

It does mean digging down to the pipe and making a small modification, but it’s a pretty reliable way to get water where you need it without affecting the rest of the system. Another alternative, if that’s too involved, is to add a small secondary head just for that patch or a drip line to supplement watering in that area.
