How to get rid of bindi and weed in hot dry weather?

My grass is very very dry. I have lots of bindi and weed. I want a product that will get rid of the bindi and weed and help my grass to grow.

Re: How to get rid of bindi and weed in hot dry weather

Hi @Eganmm,

I completely understand the issue. My front lawn, which I tried to reseed a couple of years ago, has also turned entirely to bindi this year. It’s way worse than we’ve ever had before. In the past we’d get the odd patch here and there that was easy enough to treat, but this year the whole lawn is carpeted with it.

You can certainly kill off the bindi and other weeds using Yates 2.4L BuffaloPro Weed 'N' Feed Hose On Weed Killer. If you have a buffalo lawn, make sure you grab the buffalo-safe version, as regular ones can damage buffalo grass. These products will not only destroy the bindi and weeds but also feed your lawn at the same time.

Just so you’re aware, by this stage of the season, the bindi thorns (seeds) have probably already hardened off. Spraying now will kill the plants, but it won’t remove those thorns from your lawn. The best approach is to get in early next spring and spray before the bindi starts to take hold, and that’s exactly what I’ll be doing next year.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
