Hi how to fix my yellow leaves buffalo, just recovery Fungicides did fertiliser 3 weeks soho, before fungal, can I put more fertiliser or no ?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @sheffield1. It's amazing to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about lawn care.
Yellowing in buffalo grass after a fungal issue is quite common and, in many cases, it is part of the recovery process rather than a new problem. The fungicide will stop the disease, but it does not instantly repair the damaged leaf tissue, so the lawn often looks yellow or pale for a few weeks until new healthy growth comes through.
The most important thing to do first is to follow the directions on the fertiliser you already used. Different fertilisers have different reapplication intervals, and applying a chemical fertiliser too soon can stress the lawn further or even burn it. If the label says you need to wait longer, it is best to stick to that timing rather than adding more now.
If you want to give the lawn a gentle boost while it recovers, you can use a liquid or organic fertiliser such as PowerFeed or a similar seaweed or fish-based product. These are much milder than granular chemical fertilisers and can help stimulate root and leaf recovery without the risk of overfeeding. Avoid applying another chemical fertiliser unless the product instructions clearly say it is safe to do so at this stage.
Also, make sure the lawn is being watered correctly, deep but not too often, and avoid mowing too low while it recovers. As the weather warms and new growth appears, the yellow leaves should gradually be replaced by healthy green ones.
