How to install agi pipe drain?

hi everyone, question - we have a slopping block front to back (1-1.5m drop over 29m) and am wondering if we need to install agi pipe next to the concrete all along this path terminating into storm water drain?

In the backyard we’ll have an area that will have grass with a slight slope, does this area also need agi pipe?

Installing agi pipe will certainly help to promote drainage and is likely a good option for you. My one concern is that you've said the block slopes from the front to the back so creating adequate angle for the water to flow where you want it may be quite difficult. If the stormwater pipe runs through the back of the property, this shouldn't be an issue, but it will require a plumber's assistance to connect the agi pipe to it.

Additionally, if the soil is clay, it may soak up the water and prevent the agi pipe from working as effectively as possible. A French drain will help to increase the drainage and mitigate the issues clay will cause. This can be created using Vinidex 65mm x 20m Draincoil With Filter Sock, drainage gravel, and geotextile fabric. Dig a trench, roughly 300mm deep, line the trench with your geotextile fabric then add 100mm of drainage gravel on the base. Add your agi pipe on top then cover with an additonal 100mm of drainage gravel before closing the geotextile fabric over the top. Once you have formed your French drain, you can back fill to the same level as the surrounds using the soil you removed.

I would however suggest you contact a plumber for assistance on this one as you will need the agi pipe to connect to an adequate stormwater system and any plumbing work requires a suitable licence and knowledge of local regulations.
