How to install irrigation sprinklers?

Hey

just wondering if this irrigation kit will work for me

i done  a flow test from the tap

and is reading at 36lpm

would i need all 6 sprinklers or could i just use 3

and would these KRain sprinklers be fine or am i best to go with another brand

also wondering how to run and branch the 3 or 6 sprinklers off

could you please map them out for me with a picture design

there is already established buffalo lawn there

would I get away with slicing the lawn with a garden edger and sliding the poly lines in or am I better off to trench it a bit wider

also should I get a pressure gauge to measure the kpa

thank you

Re: irrigation sprinkler instal

Hi @jarrodpink,

That kit will work well for you. The K-Rain sprinklers included are solid performers, and the adjustable pattern from zero degrees up to 360 makes them very flexible. In your layout the corner positions would be set to 90 degrees, and the sprinklers placed along the long 5400mm edge would be set to 180 degrees. That gives you full coverage, and although there will be some overlap, overlap is exactly what you want, as it prevents dry patches.

Your proposed sprinkler locations already look sensible. You would simply run a loop of poly pipe around the perimeter and bring it back to the tap, with each sprinkler teeing off that loop. It is a straightforward circular layout and the kit fittings will handle it.

You should be able to install the pipe by slicing the turf with a spade or lawn edger. Cut down to a full spade depth, rock the spade back and forward to open the cut into a narrow V, then drop the poly line in. Once the grass settles back together it hides the cut very neatly. There is no need to dig a wide trench for this type of irrigation installation.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
