Hello
Is like to install some lighting around the edge of pavers similar to the screenshots below.
I have found the aluminum channel and solar lights I've attached below from Bunnings. Would you think that would work? Also, would you add some clear silicone to secure the lights onto the channel? I plan on bedding the aluminum channel into the haunching next to the brick pavers.
Interested in your opinions, thanks!
Hi @DIYH,
That sounds like a neat and unique idea for some lighting! The LED light rope is around 10 mm wide, but I’d suggest heading into a store to double-check how easily it fits into the aluminium channel you’re looking at. If it ends up being a nice and tight press fit, you may not even need silicone to hold it in place. If it’s a little loose, then a small bead of clear silicone would be perfect to keep it secure and tidy. Bedding the channel into the haunching next to the brick pavers also sounds like a solid plan.
The only extra bit of advice I’d give is to stop the channel about 10cm back from any corner. That way, the rope has room for a gentle sweeping bend. If you try to bring the channel right up to the corner and force a sharp 90° bend, you’ll likely find it difficult to work with, and it could create a stress point in the rope that makes it more prone to failing down the track.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
