How to remove weeds from Kikuyu lawn?

We recently purchased this property and it seems the previous owner hadn't maintained the lawn for a very long time and most likely the seeds of the weeds have set in. Due to the sheer surface area, I would prefer to use a sprayer. What weed concentrate would be best for kikuyu?

Hi @hosau,

I'd start by using a selective weeder over the whole area such as Scotts Lawn Builder Bindii Clover Broadleaf Weedkiller Refillable Bottle. It will take care of all the common weeds you're seeing. If anything remains after they will typically be the hardier weeds and we can deal with them separately.

Thanks @MitchellMc . Since the grass is overgrown as well would you recommend mowing it first and then wait a week or so before applying weed killer?

You could certainly do it that way, @hosau. I'd recommend you mow with a catcher, as you don't want to spread any weed seed all over the lawn.
