How to save sick potted palm tree?

Just moved to this home and found some beautiful pots with different plants to take care of. This one at entrance door( looks like a small palm tree), is going brown quite rapidly. It's been watered, it has sun light, not sure what to do.

Any suggestions?

For starters trim off all the dead branches they are not need by the plant and will remove some fungal issues.

Some times under watering and over watering may cause sudden browness. Water the pot not wetting the leafs trying to avoid fungal infections.

Consider buying some fertilizer for palms and your other potted plants will benifit too.

Maybe buy some anti fungal spray as some of the fronds look a little fungal effected this also can be used on other plants.at need.

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

I can't see bugs or signs of fungal issues, so I suspect it is either due to water issues, or it may have outgrown its pot.

Is it possible to get a photo of the pot that the palm tree is in? If you tilt it, can you see a drainage hole in the base? If there is a drainage hole, can you see roots trying to grow through it?

When you water the tree, is the soil fast draining? Or does the soil stay soaked for a long time after watering?

I'd say the best course of action is to repot the tree in a larger pot with some fresh soil, but I'd like to get some further opinions.

I'm attaching photo, but I don't think it is a small pot problem. Have a look and tell me what you think.

The people who lived here before were in this house for less than a year. All plants are fairly new, they might have been planted even more recently.

I checked the soil, water drains easily. No overgrown roots. I have two other huge vases in the front garden that I wondered if the full sun was an issue, but this one is protected against front door, no afternoon sun, as you can see the photo. I cut off the worst leaf, no signs of fungus anywhere else. Should I still use an anti fungus?

We had a good shower days ago, so hoping to water it again just next week. Appreciate the help, thanks again!

It's quite possibly over or under-watered @Rosana1.

You mentioned that the plant had a shower a few days ago and that you plan on watering it again next week. Does that mean you are only watering it once a week? That might be too infrequently in summer. Stick your finger down into the soil. If the soil is 10cm below the surface dry, then you should water it. If it's still wet, don't water.

If there are no fungal signs, then you wouldn't use a fungal spray.
