How to seal Northcote concrete fibre pots?

Hi, when the above pots are brand new and have been sitting empty out in the rain, how can you tell if they are completely dry to coat with sealer - obviously they look dry in the sun, but we need to know if that means they are dry all the way through. Any way to tell? Thank you

Re: Sealing Northcote concrete fibre pots

Hello @luwa

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your Northcote pots.

I suggest bringing your pots into the garage and placing each one inside a clear plastic bag and close tightly. Place them on a table and not on the floor. Leave them in the garage overnight and in the following morning if you see condensation buildup inside the plastic bag the pot is still wet inside. I suggest leaving them out in the sun for the whole day, but make sure to bring them in before the sun sets. This will prevent cold air moisture from entering your pots. Repeat the exercise until there is no more condensation, you then can seal your pots.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
