Hi
The garden soil has washed away in the rain. There is a gentle slope. Adding new soil and want to make sure it stays.
The area is about 2.5m by 1.5m.
Advise needed please
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @SandraDj. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about retaining soil.
The most reliable long-term fix is to dig down about two hundred millimetres and add another run of sleepers beneath the existing ones. That gives you a proper retaining face that will not allow soil to escape even if the slope shifts a little over time. The only drawback is the digging required, particularly in the rear corners where the ground rises. I do note that it appears the top of the footer is at soil level, so that approach might not work.
If you want to minimise excavation, you can cut a sleeper lengthwise and add a narrow strip underneath the existing rail, or you can stack an additional pair of sleepers on the front face and fix them to the ones already there. Stacking will give you a slight step in the facade, although many people find that it looks intentional once installed.
I've created a couple of renderings to illustrate.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell

Hi @SandraDj,
This has come up before and with the last question I suggested Trellis Mesh pegged down with tent pegs.
That is low cost and very easy to implement, come back for more info.
Cheers
Thanks Mitchell!
