I had fence done 5 years ago. Looks brand new and loved it but now it looks old. Pictures attached before and after. Please provide a solution how to bring life to fence again. I don't want to use pressure spray as don't want to get the area wet in surroundings. Do you have any solution (spray /liquid) which i can use through pump spray. I also have weeds grown all over and have damage my garden look. I had applied weeds granules pack and doing the lawn mowing regulary but can't stopped the weeds growing. Don't know which other brand is better and get reed out from weeds completely.
The white stones getting covered by weeds
The clear path now looks ugly.
APPLIED YATES - no effect after spraying
Weeds covered all over
NOW - Weeds had covered the area
BEFORE - White stones without Weeds
BEFORE - A few weeds still manage to clean
NOW - Deck and fence
NOW - small gate
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Ravikiran. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about restoring a garden.
For the timber fence, I’d suggest using 30 Seconds Outdoor Cleaner along with a stiff bristle brush to scrub off the built-up discolouration. While pressure washing is the most effective way to clean outdoor timber, using 30 Seconds with a bit of elbow grease is the next best option if you’re trying to avoid getting the surrounding areas too wet. Just make sure to wear the PPE listed on the label—like gloves and safety glasses—and rinse the fence down lightly with a hose if needed.
As for the weed issue in the white pebble areas, that type of surface tends to attract and hold onto weeds, especially after a few seasons. I’d recommend applying a path weeder, which not only kills weeds but leaves a residue in the pebbles that helps prevent new ones from coming back. This is best applied every six months as a preventative.
To deal with the weeds you’ve got now, try using a broad-spectrum weed killer first to knock everything down. Be careful with overspray—it’ll kill grass and other nearby plants too. Once the weeds have died off, you might need to clear out the dead material by hand or with a blower vac to help restore that clean white pebble look.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
