Landscape planning suggestions wanted

Planning to do landscaping as below: any suggestions and comments for improvement . which option is good 🙂

Backyard size is 11m wide x 8.3m length

1) Will do the side concretes after Final OC so pepples will be used until .

Brown lines are 1m concrete around home

2) Red lines are L or U shaped garden bed with 2 line concrete block (400mm height x 800mm depth) ?

3) colorbond shed for storing landscape items - may be 2m wide x 1 m depth x 2m height?

4) back side all area levelling and add the buffalo grass

5) front side small retaining wall.

6) front door 1.2m wide concrete steps

7) two storm water drainage

Your landscaping plan looks well thought out, and it's great that you’re considering various options.

Using pebbles temporarily around the home until you finalise the concrete is a practical approach, but just be mindful of drainage to prevent any water from pooling near the foundation.

The L or U-shaped garden beds with concrete blocks will add nice structure to your yard, and with a height of 400mm, you'll have enough depth for most plants. I’d suggest incorporating a mix of native plants and low-maintenance perennials for ease of care.

The 2m x 1m Colorbond shed is a good size for storing tools and other landscaping items—just make sure it's easily accessible and positioned to avoid blocking sunlight from your garden beds. My preference would be to have the shed next to the clothesline, provided it doesn't shadow the line. That would be a much better location than directly off your alfresco area.

Levelling the backyard and planting buffalo grass is a solid choice for a durable lawn; just ensure proper soil preparation before laying the turf to encourage strong root growth.

A small retaining wall at the front will help manage any slope and can also enhance curb appeal. You might want to add some low-growing plants along the top for added interest.

The 1.2m wide concrete steps at your front door will create a welcoming entry, and adding planters on either side could soften the look. Lastly, it’s great that you’re planning for stormwater drainage—ensuring effective drainage will protect your landscape investment in the long term.
