Hi all.
I have the ryobi oed1850 18v edger. I notice it has the quick release/attach grey fitting and was wondering if it would be compatible with other heads like the pole saw etc see image attached

Although this unit has a similar quick-release style fitting on the shaft, unfortunately, the 18V OED1850 edger is not designed to accept any other interchangeable heads.
While some of the Ryobi outdoor tools in the RYOBI range do use a quick-release system, the 18V edger is a standalone tool. It has a much thinner shaft than the pole tools, and the pole saws, pole pruners and pole hedge trimmers all use a larger diameter shaft that is only compatible with each other. Those attachments are specifically engineered for the pole pruning platforms and will not fit or function safely on the edger.
So in short, even though the fitting looks similar, the 18V edger is not interchangeable with other heads in the range and is designed to be used solely as an edger.
