I am doing a kitchen makeover but with cost, painting the cabinets and walls this year and was going to replace the splashback and benchtops next year. In the meantime, I wanted to paint my existing splashback as I can't find any peel and stick tiles that I like and figure this is the most budget way to at least get it to match the new colour scheme until I can replace.
I want to make it more interesting so was going to either stencil a pattern or maybe do a mural. I was thinking to use the Dulux renovation range primer and then a main colour in the tile paint for the base coat. However, I'd like to use multiple colours for the design and since I wouldn't need much of eacj was thinking to either use some of those small pots or porcelain/ceramic paints or maybe even just some acrylics then use the renovation top coat to seal.
If it's all water based paints there shouldn't be an issue using other paints in combination with the renovation range? It's not high traffic and as long as the top coat can withstand washing behind the cooktop, I can't see that even just regular acrylic would be ok to paint a design if it's sealed?
