Hi,
recently i had guests in my house and apparently they kept the hot pot over the bench top and it burnt it, is there anyway i can remove this mark?
To my guess this is a laminated bench top, what would be the best possible way to clear this? I have attached the photos for your reference. One photo is of the damage and the other is of the bench top to show the lamination.
Thanks for reading this post and sharing your thoughts.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Zainnizar98. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about repairing a benchtop.
Unfortunately, there's no reliable DIY method for removing a burn mark from a laminated benchtop, as the heat damage typically penetrates the surface layer. I’d recommend seeking professional assistance — they may be able to conceal or recolour the area to make it less noticeable.
The only real alternatives would be to repaint the entire benchtop using something like the Dulux Renovation Range (designed for laminate surfaces), or to replace that section of the bench entirely if you can find a matching top.
Here's a helpful guide: How to paint a kitchen benchtop with Dulux.
