How to add kitchen tap extension?

Hey, looking for a solution to a newly tiled kitchen splash back which has new brought the splash back forward approx 20mm and now the taps need extensions.

have found a solution to the hot/cold taps via this forum and have used kinetic pvc bonnet extensions

Not sure how to extend the tap itself now. We have brought a brasshards M&F extension CP 15x40mm extension but it brings it out too much and leaves a big gap between the splashback and the tap. Other option is to not use the extension and to just screw it into the tiles and apply some silicone however that leaves the risk of internal leakage going unknown.

anyone got any ideas ?

Can you screw the sink tap onto the threaded section despite the added thickness? If so, what risk of leakage would there be? With plumbing, there is always a risk of internal leakage going unknown. If you can get at least 2 1/2 - 3 good rotations of the tap onto the threaded section before the flange bottoms out on the tiles you're golden.

Your idea of adding an extension is spot on. However, I suggest changing the piece you've put on with a Brasshards 15mm Brass Male / Female Threaded Adaptor. This will conservatively add anywhere from 15mm to 20mm to the front of the existing threaded outlet. The Brasshards 15 x 40mm Chrome Plated Brass Male Female Extension is too long.

Once you have the shorter extension in place and there is still a gap, I suggest either using a gap sealer such as silicone if the space between the spout and the wall is around 5mm. Another option is to use a Kinetic 3/4" BSP 10mm Rise Chrome Cover Plate or similar to take up the slack.
