How to attach VJ boards to this wall?

Hi all,

I have the easy craft VJ boards cut to 1200mm height to attach to the bottom half of this wall. I have a few questions:

1. What to I use to attach the boards?

2. What trim/moulding should I use on the top of the boards?
3. The board will wrap around the corner to the door (right hand side of the photo). What sort would I use to make it look seamless on the corner?
4. I’m planning to put them above the skirting boards, but the boards are rounded so it doesn’t sit absolutely flush. Is there some sort of trim/moulding I could use to make it look more connected with the skirting?

thank you.

Re: How to attach VJ boards to this wall?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @rsb1997. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing VJ panels.

You might like to start by reading through the EasyCraft panel installation guide as it will answer some of your questions including fixing requirements.

For the external corner, you can either trim the board edges to 45 degree and create a mitre joint and fill any gaps (this is quite difficult to achieve and would require a circular saw and track system), or you can butt join them and fill any gaps. Alternatively, adding a cover moulding is the easiest option.

It would be difficult to make your join with the panels and skirting look great. Perhaps a cover strip here would cover the gap, but might look a bit out of place.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
