How to attach new sink to existing pipe?
Hello Bunnings Team,
I hope you’re doing well.
I have a quick question regarding adjusting the length of a sink pipe. After installing a new stone benchtop, I’ve noticed that the original pipe no longer fits, as the stone is approximately 2 cm higher than the original level.
I’m considering fixing it myself if it’s a straightforward task. Could you please advise me on which pipe parts I would need and what I should purchase?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Kind regards,
Andy.

Re: sink pipe 2cm lower.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Andy5. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about connecting a waste.
A plumber would likely cut the upright pipe and insert a joiner piece (either 40 or 50mm) glued into position, which would probably give enough height in itself to form the connection. If not, they'd cut a larger section out of the upright pipe and join in a new section with two joiners to increase the height.
Note that this is considered plumbing work, which requires a licensed plumber for the adjustment.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
