How to compare reverse osmosis water filters?
Hi. I am wondering what the difference is between reverse osmosis water filter installed under the kitchen sink by a company (costing around $1200) and buying one from bunnings (around $500) and having a plumber install. Would appreciate any information.

Re: Reverse Osmosis Water Filter
Hi @Loulou22,
I suspect the main difference comes down to the cost of labour. If a company is offering a full reverse osmosis system installed for around $1,200, there's a good chance the actual unit itself is worth around $500, and the remaining $700 is covering installation, service, and potentially a warranty. Buying a system yourself and then hiring a plumber separately can be more cost-effective, especially if you shop around and obtain a few quotes for the installation.
Getting a few quotes will help you compare the total outlay and ensure you're not paying extra for the same result.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
