How to fix a leaking angle stop valve?

This valve (which Google tells me is an angle stop valve) has suddenly started heavily leaking water. Turning the tap bit didn’t make much difference. For now I’ve turned off the water mains but wondering how to stop the leak?
It’s positioned behind a cupboard above the fridge (I didn’t even know it was there, it doesn’t seem to have ever had anything connected to it).

Thanks in advance!

Re: How to fix a leaking angle stop valve?

Hello @Berry

Thanks for sharing your question about your mini cistern tap. This tap is for refrigerators that need water access. If your fridge has a cold-water dispenser or makes its own ice it will need a water source. Now technically you could try to repair it by taking it apart and trying to look for a compatible jumper valve. But it would be faster to just replace the tap, I suggest using  Brasshards Easy 1/4 Turn Mini Cistern Tap 15mm Lead Free. It's a 1/4 turn tap that has a ceramic disc that seals better and provides a long service life.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

I replaced it with the tap you suggested. Very easy, thank you!
