How to fix broken cooktop grate?

Hi @zeesh,

I have renamed your question as I assume what we are looking at is a broken cooktop grate. Is that correct? 

They are typically made of cast iron and I expect repairing would not be a D.I.Y. job. 

It might be better if you can share the exact model number of your cooktop so we can help identify a replacement?

Thats a pain 😕 Its cast as @Jason has said so repairing it is really not an option. Especially having it repair so it stands up to being heated and holding boiling liquids.

Finding the model of your storvetop, the dimensions as well would help in sourcing another. If its an older unit then maybe I would keep an eye out on the side of the road or try your local tip shops white goods area as they may have some still sitting on old stoves.
