How to fix hole between rangehood flue and roof?

image.jpg

Hi,

I recently installed a new range hood but some of the plaster has come away from the wall/roof when removing the old one.
What would be the best way to fix this?

Re: how to fix the hole between range hood chimney and roof

Hello @dsenior

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about the plaster on your ceiling.

I propose using UNi-PRO 500g Multi Purpose Interior Filler - 500g to fix the damage of the chipped ceiling. Your goal is to fill in the chipped section to the same level as the ceiling and not overfill it. Once the filler cures you can then sand the surface level. The remaining steps will be to wipe away all the sanding dust and paint the chipped section of the ceiling.

Here is a handy step-by-step guide: How to patch a plaster wall (some of the techniques used are applicable to your project)

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Hi @dsenior,

Trim all three sides with quad timber.

If you don't have one get this.

Cut, paint and secure with something like liquid nails or similar adhesive.

Cheers
