Hi everyone,
I have an issue with some kitchen drawers that is proving difficult to fix.
The front hinges have broken off and the hinges are no longer available…so I did some research and some people are 3D printing them in plastic…I ordered them for $65 but they broke off in a couple of days…obviously they are not up to the task.
I would be grateful if anyone had any ideas how to reattach them in a different way or know when I could get metal ones like this..they are Multitech Hettich draw front fixing brackets.

Hi @ChrisA,
There are quite a few broken pieces there, so rather than trying to track down those proprietary parts, I’d be looking at a workaround. A good option would be to use Carina 20x20x15x1.4mm angle brackets. You can screw three of these into the bottom timber surface of the drawer, fixing them into the back of the drawer front. Then add another two on each metal side, either fixed with a small bolt and nut or attached using a pop rivet gun.
That gives you seven brackets in total: three along the bottom and two on each side, all screwed into the drawer front. Just make sure to choose screws that are slightly shorter than the thickness of the drawer front so they don’t poke through to the outside. Take your time lining it all up before driving the screws in so the front sits square.
This method should get your drawer front solidly reattached and back in service. Longer term, if more of these brackets keep breaking, it might be worth considering upgrading to a new set of drawers, but this fix should give you plenty of use in the meantime.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
Hi @ChrisA,
Following up on @MitchellMc's bracket idea which was my first thought I suggest using longer brackets.
I have included the above screengrab because the shortened URL link below may not work.
Make sure to choose the right length maybe 80mm or 100mm ???
I searched for 'small metal bracket'.
Cheers
Thankyou so much Mitchell…this is a fantastic idea…hopefully this will solve the problem!
Thankyou Allen …This is a good idea…I’ll try and get some of the right size.
Regards
Chris
