How to fix leaking Mondella goose neck mixer?

Hi,

I have just installed this new mixer and the handle is leaking. I have tried tightening it but didn’t work and I still need movement in the handle so couldn’t over tighten. It seems the two O rings aren’t thick enough to seal. Tried plumbers tape and still nothing.

Suggestions welcome.

Re: Mondella Goose Neck Mixer

Hello @TimTam79

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your goose neck mixer.

It appears that the leak is occurring near the spout joint. Behind the spout is a hole that has a grub screw that holds the spout in place. I have a feeling that you are aware of this as you've mentioned that you tried tightening it. Using your Allen key, I suggest removing the grub screw then the spout and replacing the O rings with the Kinetic Assorted Sizes O Ring Kit - 43 Pack and lubricating it with Kinetic 15g Tap Lubricant. This will prevent the O rings from getting torn apart when you reinstall the spout. My best advice is to use a generous amount of lubricant so that the O rings seal properly.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Re: Mondella Goose Neck Mixer

Hi @TimTam79

If you still have your docket, there is the option of exchanging the tap unit for another one. However, I believe replacing the O rings is a faster repair option.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
