How to fix window sill breaking away?

So I’m installing a kitchen (well kitchen company is) and my job was to remove tiles which I have done. However when doing so the motar has broken away and window sill cracked.

i have acrylic render to even out the walls as a few issues, didn’t expect this to break away and have had varied responses to fix by concrete or more acrylic render. Really don’t want to stuff it up and likely going to get a professional in.

however before I hire them. Is it concrete, acrylic render or what to fix? Rather just have what I need here for someone to then just pay labour.

Sadly my costs are already way blown out for this 😬

Hi @HappyDays,

Start by removing any loose material—tap gently with a hammer to check for any sections that aren't solid. For deeper repairs (anything over 10mm), use mortar to rebuild the missing sections first. Once the mortar has set, you can apply acrylic render to create a smooth, even finish. Render alone isn't suitable for filling deep voids, as it's generally designed for thinner applications. Having both materials on hand will allow a professional to complete the job efficiently when they arrive.

If you remove the loose material yourself, pay great care while working around the window, as the glass can shatter easily. Wear cut-resistant gloves, safety eyewear, a long-sleeved shirt, trousers and enclosed shoes.

I have the same issue and will start with mixing a mortar mix tomorrow to try fix.
