How to lime wash table using Feast Watson?

I am using a feast watson spirit based coloured liming white with a oak proof tint to have an oak looking finish on a pine table

I sanded it back to bare timber and sealed with a sanding sealer

The feast watson book says to paint on then leave for 5 minutes and then wipe off

Seeing if this maybe the correct application for this product

That sounds correct. "Using a soft, clean cloth wipe off excess when your desired colour has been achieved (1-5 minutes)."

This application technique allows you to achieve your desired opaqueness. If you want a translucent coat then wipe the liming white off after a few minutes and not wait the full five. Is there anything in particular that was concerning you about this application technique, or did you have questions?

I want to do the same process. However, I want to seal the table so it's not going to be marked by water, food etc.

What product would you recommend on top of the Feast and Watson limewash to seal it?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @distinctrenos. It's fabulous to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about sealing liming white.

You could use the Feast Watson Liming White Satin Stain & Varnish, which includes a varnish in it that seals the surface in a one-step process. Or, if you wish to seal the liming white after application, you can use Feast Watson Clear Varnish.
