How to maintain a ceramic stove top?

Hello all,

I am sick and tired of trying to keep the ceramic stove top clean. You cant help to have oil and water spills and doing this on a daily basis its just too much.

Is there something, like those mats that can be used on a bbq to keep clean, that can be used on a stove as well???

PLEASE HEEEELP

Keeping a ceramic stove top clean can definitely wear you down, especially when you’re cooking often and spills are inevitable. Oil splatters, boiling water overflows, and the occasional burnt-on mess all build up fast, and cleaning it every single day gets tiring.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any magic liners or protective mats designed for ceramic radiant cooktops like there are for BBQs or induction cooktops. Using anything in between your cookware and the heating surface on a radiant ceramic stove can interfere with heat transfer or even become a fire hazard.

That said, there are still a few ways to make cleaning a lot less painful:

Try to wipe the surface while it’s still warm (but not hot) this helps loosen grease and makes wiping faster. A microfiber cloth dampened with water or a 50:50 mix of water and white vinegar works well for everyday spills. For tougher, stuck-on messes, a Hillmark Ceramic Cooktop Scraper like the ones available at Bunnings can remove stuck residue on the ceramic surface.

For deeper cleaning once a week (or as needed), use a dedicated ceramic cooktop cleaner like Hillmark Cerapol, which not only cleans but also leaves a light protective film that makes future spills easier to remove.

If you want to avoid cleaning as often, it helps to cook with deeper pans, use lids to contain splatter, and keep a splatter guard mesh on hand for frying. While you can’t avoid cleaning entirely, these habits can stretch the time between deep cleans and make daily upkeep a bit more bearable.
