Hi we have moved to a new house which has a place for a single door small fridge. Unfortunately, we have a double door taller fridge which cannot fit there. The kitchen is quite big and we can place our fridge in the dining space. Looking for ideas as to how we can utilise this space.
Dimensions are : 29.5 inch width and 67 inch height
Hello @snehar
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your fridge space.
I believe the space was made for a refrigerator that's 600mm x 1600mm, the space you have is actually bigger which is 749.3mm x 1701.8mm. It is possible for you to put a Flexi Storage Wardrobe 400mm White Matte 4 Drawer Unit, but a great deal of the space would be wasted. I propose thinking about building a cabinet with shelves in it to maximize the use of the space. If you are only renting the property, I suggest using MDF to create the shelving cabinet.
Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1 and @Jewelleryrescue for their recommendations.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Good Evening @snehar
Here is a question for you... How many times do you want somewhere easy to store and also use your mix master, sandwich press, blender?
You have the perfect alcove sitting there. Plus it will have a power point!
How about a cross between what @EricL has mentioned and this idea.
Install a Bench at the same level as your existing benches by install two horizontal bars either side of the alcove so the bench will sit on them.
You could install half size benchtops higher to support other kitchen tools and so they could be slid out and placed on the bench to use. I was going to suggest the microwave could go there but I can see a spoy above the oven for that as well

I love this idea . We have a toaster, mixer and an electric rice cooker. What material/ ideas from Bunnings would you recommend for benchtop so that it can tolerate vibrations from mixer and heat from toaster?
I'm also concerned that we might not find the appropriate colour for the benchtops/ shelves.
Morning @snehar
I was going to give a specific colour but then thought "Thats my taste :)" so here is a link to a range of bench tops Timber Benchtops
Now there are other types of benchtops and depending if they are standard size as in off the shelf you could order them in. Depends on what you have for your existing ones. The brackets underneath I would would use some pine strips of timber screwed through or bolted depending to either side of the existing cupboards. Its just something solid to rest the benchs on. I like the timber tops as from a piece you might get a 600mm wide and also two smaller width ones to be mounted above.
Here is the sizing that I would use for the brackets underneath to rest the bench top on. 70 x 35mm Framing MGP10 Untreated Pine 2.4m Have a look for the sameish sizeing in the dressed timber as you might find something that matches your benchtop more so. Note you could also use metal right angle brackets if you wished tho they may be fiddlier to attach.

Thank you.
I will post my transformation project once it's done. I'm also thinking of painting the cabinets to get a uniform look. 🙂
