How to move waste pipe?

 hello

looking to put in a sliding bin under my sink, I need a little bit more room on the left of the existing waste pipes (see the red one on the first image)

any thoughts how I can do this myself without getting a plumber in?

Thanks

Re: how to move waste pipe

Hello @Crakin

Please note that any plumbing works must be carried out by a registered plumber for safety and compliance.

One idea that comes to mind is to replace the existing trap with a Caroma 50mm P Trap. It appears looking at the pictures that the Caroma P Trap has a shorter outlet bend than your existing one. I therefore suggest measuring the length of that bottom piece that is currently attached to the PVC drain pipe. I then recommend matching it up to the Caroma's bend to see if it is shorter.

The only other option I can think of is to introduce a bend on the PVC pipe so that the elbow moves inward to the right providing you with more space. But this will require the services of a plumber as it is involved, and the modifications must be exact in order for it to work. My only other suggestion is to get a smaller bin.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric

Re: how to move waste pipe

Thanks Eric, I think I’ll be getting a plumber in

I think it will need the main pipe to be altered and I don’t want to mess with that.

thanks again
