I have timber laminate in my living and kitchen area that has faded over time. At the moment, I cannot afford to replace it, so was hoping for a ‘paint’ solution or similar to make it uniform and look better/last a little longer. It butts up to the original 1900 stained pine floor. Work arounds please.

Have you tried a restoration product, such as Cabots 1L Laminate Floor Restore or Dunlop 500ml Revive and Shine? They would be my first choices. You might find they restore the laminate enough to get by. You'll likely need to give the area a quick re-application every 12 months to keep the look. A good indication of whether they would possibly work is to wipe some water over the surface. If that restores the colouring, these products would likely work.
