I’ve used a wax on this wood before and it seems to come off. Especially around the sink area like in the photos. The wood has had some type of wax or something applied at some point by previous owner. I’m not sure what they used but it only seems to have come off in certain areas around the sink. Hopefully you can tell by the photos. It feels more like a resin I swear as they’ve used it through out the wood on bench top but sometimes I swear it’s sticky in places
