Hi guys,
First time home owner and starting to explore the world of DIY ![]()
I want to give my kitchen a little redo, basically looking to paint it black and replace handles on all doors.
I am just wondering if I should sand it down first or not, as I believe it has a glossy, laminate finish? And what paint, finish would be good? I have heard of the Dulux renovation range, but can't find black in its range. Also welcoming honest advice if this is a project you advice for someone who is quite new to a sanding machine.
Thanks 🙏🏼
Hello @CJOS
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about painting your kitchen cabinet doors. I suggest having a quick look at these guides - Rejuvenate your cabinets with Dulux paint and How to paint cabinet doors | Dulux Renovation Range. They will show you the steps you need to take to prepare your glossy door for painting. In regards to the black colour you are after, you will need to ask the stores paint specialist to tint the Dulux Renovation Range for you. I recommend going to the Dulux paint sample cards in the store and looking at the black and dark colours available. Simply show the colour you've selected to the paint specialist, and they will mix it up for you.
