Hi,
I was wondering if it's possible to repair this door and if so how??
Thank you
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @shane26. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about cabinet door repair.
You can definitely repair that pantry door. The damaged section at the bottom looks like the MDF core has swollen and blown out, so the first step is to sand or cut away any loose, fluffy material until you have a firm surface to work with. Once that is cleaned up, you can rebuild the missing corner using Builder’s Bog. Apply the bog in layers and shape it so it recreates the original corner, then sand it back once it has cured to match the profile of the door.
The repair will re-create the corner, although it will not have the same wood grain texture as the rest of the door. Painting over it in a matching white will disguise it well, and it will look far better than the exposed MDF you are seeing now. If you want to try to blend it a little more, you can lightly score the bog with a fine flathead screwdriver once it is dry to mimic some of the wood grain lines. This technique can help reduce the contrast, although its effectiveness can vary.
Replacing the door is the other option. It is worth checking whether there is a compatible door in our Kaboodle range that matches the size of your existing pantry unit.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
