Hi
I need to repair this on my kitchen bench top. I would like to know if I can buy a sort of filler at bunnings.
Many thanks.
Lin
Hello @Linwei
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your benchtop.
Can you please tell us what kind of benchtop you have, is it laminate or stone? Can you also please tell us what happened to the benchtop and what caused the damage. Once we have that information, we'll be able to offer recommendations on what can be done.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
Eric
Hi Eric,
Thank you for your reply.
It is stone but not sure what happen cause this damage. Maybe corroded by acid because it is rough and whitish.
Thank you
Thanks for the extra info, @Linwei.
Whatever caused the damage, it does look like the surface has been etched—possibly by acid or a harsh cleaner—leaving it rough and dull. Unfortunately, there aren’t any fillers that will restore the look or feel of that area to match the surrounding stone.
Your best option would be to speak with a benchtop repair specialist to see whether the surface can be polished or refinished. In some cases, they can buff out the damage or apply a filler and polish it to match the original sheen, but that sort of work usually requires professional tools and experience to get right.
