How to replace a back plated tap?

My dishwasher is hooked up to the hot water supply using a back plated tap:

The hot water pipe is pulled off a tee connector from under the kitchen sink. While investigating water hammer caused by the dishwasher, I made the mistake of turning this tap down. Have started noticing it leaks a few drops from where the handle/spindle enters the cylindrical thingy:

Wanting to replace the O-Ring/washer - I tried to open the spindle which seems like an impossible task. I have had 3 adjustable wrenches jump size when trying to unscrew this nut. A multi grip has started to deface/smoothen out the nut. I will have to replace this tap. This particular tap is out of stock in all the stores around me. https://www.bunnings.com.au/kinetic-15mm-brass-back-plated-tap_p0499643

So that brings me to my question. What setup will I need to replace this tap?

I think I can use something like this: https://www.bunnings.com.au/sharkbite-dn15-x-15mm-1-2-bsp-male-threaded-copper-connector_p0692350 where the copper pipe goes on one end and the inlet hose on the other, but will need to find a 20mm outlet

But since I want to use a stop tap, I think I will need an elbow that the copper pipe will screw on to:

The elbow itself gets screwed in to the cabinet, this way it can hold the weight of a stop tap. Then, screw in a single mini tap with a 20 mm outlet on to the elbow: https://www.bunnings.com.au/brasshards-mini-washing-machine-tap-20mm-chrome-lead-free_p0571970 - onto which I screw on the dishwashers inlet hose. Am I on the right track? If not, could you please suggest?

Re: How to replace a back plated tap?

Hello @Burnings

Just a friendly reminder that any plumbing modification or plumbing works must be carried out by a licensed plumber for safety and compliance.

For a quick repair, I suggest looking at replacing the whole tap with a Kinetic 20mm Brass Back Plated Tap. The 15mm you referred to is possibly too small and will not work with your dishwasher fitting. Generally speaking, dishwasher and washing machine inlet fittings are often 20mm.

As an alternative, I propose looking at the following:

Please don't forget to apply plumber's tape on the threaded fittings of the tapware.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
