How to replace floorboards finish that peeled off?

Hi, my flooring became sticky and the finish started to peel off. My partner scraped it all off, and now it looks like this. What can I use to make the floorboards match or improve their appearance? I’d prefer not to replace the floorboards. Any product recommendations would be helpful. Thanks

Re: How to replace floorboards finish that peeled off?

Hello @pat21

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your floorboard.

It looks like the main sealing coat of the floorboard has been totally removed. If you are after a temporary fix, I suggest sanding the stripped portion and then cleaning all the sanding dust off. I suggest re-sealing that section with Cabot's 1L Satin Water Based CFP Floor. Please note that they will not finish in the same tone of colour as the sanded section is freshly sealed. The only way to get a uniform finish is to sand the entire flooring area and applying new sealer to the timber surface.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
