Our house was built in 2009..The kitchen benches are a grey, stone chip pattern, smooth laminate. It is not worn as such, just quite dull. I would like to put the shine back in the laminate again, but obviously need to use a food safe product. Any ideas?
Hi @ChrisNoor,
I'd suggest you start by giving them a good clean with an all purpose cleaner, then drying it off with a cloth or paper towel.
Once dry, you can apply a light coating of Gilly's Food Safe Wax, buffing it in a circular motion with a microfibre cloth or buffer polisher.
This should add a nice shine to the surface that can be repeated when required.
Let me know what you think.

Thank you for your reply Jacob. I looked up this product and it is described as being useful for raw timber/bamboo surfaces, including children's furniture, chopping boards and food serving utensils. These are porous surfaces. Laminex is non-porous. Would it therefore be suitable for that?
Hi @ChrisNoor,
There are products that are specifically designed to polish laminate surfaces, such as this Long Life Self Shining Floor Polish, but they do not fit the requirement of being food safe.
The wax I recommended is not specifically marketed towards laminate, but it will still buff and polish it while fitting your requirement of being food safe. Unfortunately, I am not aware of any other product that fits that requirement as well as being marketed towards laminate.
Ultimately, wax is wax; it will buff and polish a surface regardless of what you apply it to.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
