Re: use dead space under the kitchen sink

Hi @swapna,

If you're struggling to reach that far back, then it really is what we call dead space, so it is best treated as storage for things that are rarely touched. You can certainly tuck a basket or tub right at the back for backup items, but it will never be convenient for anything used day to day.

A practical way to make the space actually work is to bring the functional storage forward to a point you can comfortably reach. Installing a small board on brackets about ten inches back from the front lets you create a shallow zone that is immediately accessible. From that board you can screw in a simple curtain-rod or a short hanging rail to store spray bottles. It keeps everything at the front, easy to grab, and avoids the usual clutter of bottles sitting on the base of the cupboard. You lose the deep space behind it, but since it was not useful to you anyway, converting it into an organised and reachable area tends to be a far better outcome.

Here's the rail I made under my sink.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
