Hi everyone,
I’m hoping to get some advice on how to cover or extend the 30cm overhang on the left and right sides of my kitchen island – it’s very similar to the one in the image below.
The overhang is great for extra bench space and seating, but the exposed sides feel a bit unfinished. I’d love some ideas or Bunnings product recommendations for:
Adding support panels or brackets
Installing waterfall ends
Using trim, timber panels, or any decorative finish to neaten it up
Appreciate any tips or examples you might have.
Thanks in advance!
Hello @joabi
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about sprucing up your breakfast bar area.
You've pretty much covered it with your three suggestions in your post.
Would it be possible for you to post a few pictures of your kitchen island? This will give our members a better idea of what colour and materials your kitchen island is made of.
Adding trims, waterfall or accent posts are some of the things that come to mind, but it would definitely help if we could see your island. Once we've made our assessment, we should be able to offer recommendations on possible enhancements to your kitchen island.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
