I've sanded back the top and stained it and sealed it. The base was scuff sanded, primed and then painted with 2 coats of Porters Paints. I then added new hardware for finishing touches.

Those are beautifully upcycled bedside tables. The timber top finish really draws the eye towards it, and the new handles add a touch of chic modernism to its overall look. A well thought out and executed project.
