D.I.Y. hallway / entry table

I simply didn’t want to pay $200 to get the look so made it myself.
Using a timber project panel and hardwood DAR, this project was fairly simple to put together.
I even saved money by using a Porters Paint sample put for the frame.
Total cost $68.55 for

5 x piece of Meranti 18 x 18 x 2700

1 Heavea project panel 450 x 1200

1 Selleys PVA glue

1 Porters Paint sample pot - Aniseed

Re: Hallway / Entry Table

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @craftyhopper. It's wonderful that you've joined us, and many thanks for sharing your project.

That looks absolutely sensational! You've certainly nailed the look as it appears to be a store-bought unit. Did you sand the Hevea panel down, as I love the natural finish?

Do you have any other images of the construction process, or could you share details on how you joined the Meranti together so professionally? I trust any of our members attempting to replicate your amazing project would appreciate further information.

Thanks again for contributing your work.

Re: Hallway / Entry Table

Thanks Mitchell

I’ll upload some progress photos 😊 As for putting it together, it was simply PVA glue and a nail gun. I left the Hevea panel as is and didn’t sand. I will see how it fairs and if it needs it, I’ll add a clear matte varnish.

Re: Hallway / Entry Table

Thanks so much for taking the time to share these photos and more details about how you put your table together @craftyhopper. You're very talented.

If you do end up using varnish, it would be great if you could give an update here so members who want to replicate this project can follow along.

You have a lot to be proud of with this project, and we can't wait to see what you come up with next.
